Form in one paragraph
After every delve a hero gets a mark: Heroic, Inspired, Steady, Shaken or Unstable. The game keeps the last five marks as the hero’s form record. Three Heroic or Inspired marks among the five put a hero in form; three Shaken or Unstable marks put them out of form. Crossing either line is worth +2 or −2 morale. Form also follows the hero onto the market: in form, rivals value them about 25% higher and big bids and sales come far more easily; out of form, about 20% lower.
What Streaky changes
A Streaky hero has every mark written into the form record twice. Because only five entries are kept, that changes how fast form moves:
| After… | Ordinary hero | Streaky hero |
|---|---|---|
| 2 strong delves | Not yet in form (needs 3) | In form (4 strong entries) |
| 2 poor delves | Not yet out of form | Out of form |
| How far back form remembers | The last 5 delves | The last 2 or 3 delves |
So a Streaky hero swings into form after two good outings, out of it after two bad ones, and forgets anything older than about two and a half delves. The marks themselves are unchanged, and so is the immediate morale from each mark (+2 for Heroic, −6 for Shaken and so on). Only form reacts faster.
The trait is the mirror of Consistent, which turns half of a hero’s bad marks into Steady ones on the form record. The two can never share a hero.
Using a Streaky hero
- Selling. List them right after two strong delves, when they are in form and their value peaks. Two poor delves later, the same hero can be worth a fifth less.
- Keeping. If they are a starter you want to keep, expect rival interest whenever they are hot, and keep their morale up so a poaching approach finds a content hero.
- Slumps. Two poor delves put them out of form and cost morale. Rest them for fixtures you expect to lose so the slump does not compound, then bring them back for an easy win: two good marks reverse it.
The rest of the trait
- Forks. As party leader, a Streaky hero leans +1 toward the Sealed Door, the hazard side room. With nothing pulling the other way, that means taking it about two times in three when it is offered. Treasure rooms and Lairs get no lean.
- Flavour. Quest reports have Streaky lines, and on pair duty the hero speaks with the “luck” voice shared with Lucky, Gambler and Superstitious.
The hero card links Streaky to Composure. That link is descriptive and does not change the attribute.
Rarity and history

Recruiting
Neutral. Streaky is a tool for guilds that trade heroes, because it makes form, and so market value, quick to push up. For a guild that never sells, it mostly adds morale swings of ±2 that arrive twice as often.
